2026 Spring Season: **Information Subject to Change as ODGSL finalizes the Spring Season Dates**
Glen Allen Youth Athletic Association Softball Program, chartered under the Babe Ruth League, offers a comprehensive and exciting environment for young athletes ranging from ages 4 to 16. Our program focuses on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and competitive setting. We cater to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players, and provide a supportive atmosphere where athletes can grow both on and off the field.
Glen Allen Softball is chartered under Babe Ruth and falls under the Old Dominion Girls Softball League "ODGSL" which includes several area Softball Leagues; including Rockville, New Kent, Varina, Sandston, and Charles City. The Spring ODGSL pre-season meeting will take place at the beginning of January. This meeting is to dial in dates, finalize season league rules, etc.
***New for 2026***
Beginning Spring 2026, Babe Ruth has moved the age cutoff for softball from 12/31 to 8/31. Therefore, whatever age your athlete is as of 8/31/25 will determine what division they are in for the 2026 Spring Season. If your athlete was scheduled to move up, but now won't because of this rule change, please email [email protected] to discuss options. See more information on the rule and age chart for Babe Ruth here.

RF&P Park Address: 3400 Mountain Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23060
Games:
In the 8-week Spring season, 12 games are scheduled. Games are primarily played on Saturdays (double-headers), but there may be some in-week games pending blackout dates and field availability. Glen Allen home games are played at RF&P Park. Away games will be played at other league locations, depending on team schedules. The game schedules on the Team Stack App will have all address information included.
Required Equipment:
For the Spring Season, Team Jerseys are provided by GAYAA. Pants, Socks, & Belt selections will be communicated by the first practice. Glove, Cleats, Helmet w/ Facemask and a fielder's facemask are required. Bats must be marked "Official Softball Bat" or "Official Fastpitch Bat" (Easton 2020 Ghost - Gold Color is prohibited). Metal Cleats are Prohibited.
Weather Cancellations:
Weather cancellations may require reschedules for games. If a game is cancelled, it will be rescheduled two Sundays from that day. For example, if a game on Saturday the 1st is cancelled, it would be made up on Sunday the 9th. Your coach will communicate all rescheduled game and practice times. If practices are cancelled due to weather, your coach will work to find a possible alternative that week.
The county updates the weather hotline at ~3pm during the week, and ~8am on weekends. If the fields are closed, a cancellation will be sent to your email and your coaches will also reach out. On days with potential cancellations, please be patient as we must wait for the county to make the decisions on field closings.
Team Stack App:
All schedules for games and practices are maintained within the Team Stack App. This includes notifications about cancellations, field changes, etc. Parents will receive an email invitation to download the app via email by the first week of practices. In addition to email, this will be our primary form of communication throughout the season.
